Goal:
Students are trained for making business decisions in the field of production management and logistics in companies.
Outcome:
Students are trained to efficiently and effectively manage the organizational system.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
Introductory considerations. The concept of the model. Construction of mathematical models.
Linear programming - Geometric interpretation of LP problems.
Linear programming - The standard form of linear programming and its basic solutions.
Linear programming - Simpleks method.
Transport problem - Task setting.
Transport problem - Methods to determine the starting, acceptable and optimal solution.
Transport problem - An open transport transport model.
Application of linear programming.
Network Planning - Project Activities and Gantt Diagram.
Network planning - Structure analysis.
Network Planning - Analysis of Time and Costs.
Inventory management - Cost of inventory.
Inventory management - Mathematical models in inventory management.
Theory of games.
Prediction.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
The exercises are discussed on concrete examples from the practice on matter covered by the lecture program.
