Goal:Understanding the basic terms, development and usage in the IT area
Outcome:After successfully completed course, student should be able to use modern technologies for operations with information (gathering, processing and transmission) and to engage with further development of information technology.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
Introduction lecture (organization and course contents). Basic terms.
Information theory.
Technology development and usage.
Computer systems and technology.
Computer hardware for adoption, processing and protection information.
Computer software for transmission and processing of information.
Introduction to e-learning. Working in virtual machine environment. Command-line interfaces in operating systems. Text processing, charts and images using Linux Office. Design of diagrams, algorithms and graphs using Windows Office. Operations with databases. Cryptography programming tools. Cooperative learning via the internet. Communication in the team work via the Internet. Wiki and blog.
